Question:

I received a K-300 from a family member as a Christmas gift. I have been experiencing a heating problem with it. One day it will heat and the next day it will not heat. Have you had a problem with this product doing this? Do you have a recall on this product? I have in the past purchased the K40 and really loved the product, but as of with the K-300 I’m not very happy. They are to expensive to just keep buying. If you could please help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Response:

We have found the K300, in the short time it has been out, to be a pretty reliable brewer with few problems to date. So the heating issue Theresa is having with the unit has not been a common fault we have seen to date.

Having said that, in Theresa’s case we would recommend a replacement unit rather than attempting to repair the brewer. As it will come within Keurig’s one year machine warranty, a brand new brewer will most likely be issued by Keurig rather than a repair. Keurig designed the machines to be very difficult to get into and if it is for us, then it is also for them. I’ve not known any of our readers to have a brewer fixed by Keurig.

We recently wrote a little more detail about calling their customer service line and the link here will provide you with some pointers. And if you would like to know a bit more about the Keurig warranty and its small print, this link will provide you with those details.

So in this case with the heating problem in the K300 we don’t have any easy / quick solution for Theresa, but instead recommend she contact Keurig and seek a brand new replacement unit.
