Keurig Won’t Work

Question:

I have had trouble with my Keurig for some time now.  It will make less that I request, plug up and coffee grounds run all over or in other words, is a piece if junk.  I have had this not quite a year so there should not be problems.  I have the machine that can make a whole carafe at a time.  I have rarely used that feature.  Very disappointed in this machine, and would surely hesitate to buy another one.

Response:

We wouldn’t agree with Pamela that Keurig machines are “a piece of junk” but would agree they should be lasting a lot longer than many do at the moment. We wrote an article a while back about at least extending the warranty of these brewers out to two or three years – if Keurig were so confident about how good they are.

We are disappointed to hear about so many of their new 2.0 series of brewers failing within their first year of use.

However, back to Pamela. The good news is the brewer will be covered by Keurig’s one year warranty and so a new machine will be sent out by Keurig. All that is required is their customer service team be contacted and the machine’s serial number is provided. If the brewer had been registered at time of purchase (which we recommend in this article) then Keurig will have all the details they need. Otherwise it’s just the serial number and your contact details so they know where to send the new machine.

Keurig don’t bother with repairs as they must find it more cost effective to send out new ones. We can’t see how this works … but their money and shareholders. Personally we would save the money through better design and components (which would equal happier customers).

Keurig’s customer service team can be contacted toll-free, on: 1-800-361-5628 (for Canadian residents). For those in the USA their number is: 866‑901‑BREW (866‑901‑2739).
