Slow Brewing

Merlin.

Question:

I received the new Keurig 2.0 as a gift in January of this year.  It is very slow in brewing.  It will brew most of the Green Mountain coffees in a reasonable time, but most other brands will take 2-3 minutes to brew.  The old Keurig we had was much quicker.  Is there a reason why it takes so long?

Response:

The problem that Merlin raises isn’t one we have come across before for the 2.0 series of brewers. Having looked through our own database of questions and a search around the net we have no answer as to why this would be happening.

The brewer reads the K Cups in the same manner, no matter who makes them, and as long as they conform to the new DRM technology that Keurig employs on its machines. If the supplier of the third part K Cups wasn’t using the correct setup the machine wouldn’t read them correctly and one would end up with the “Oops” message (although the hack we set out the other week gets around this).

As this seems to be such a strange fault with the machine we would suggest getting in touch with Keurig Customer Service and ask for a replacement. This certainly is a fault with the machine and needs correction. Keurig won’t repair the machine but instead replace it under the warranty. They can be contacted on toll-free 1-866-901-BREW (2739).
